Belle Atelier, one of Chicago's newest bridal ateliers, is the perfect puzzle piece to make your wedding gown shopping experience très magnifique. This serene space is artistically tucked away, a true escape in the city. Given Atelier status and special touches, it has us feeling all of the romance as if we were whisked away - Transporté en France! Belle is located in a chic space right off Damen Avenue in Bucktown. This dreamy sanctuary features hand-selected, high-quality pieces that are carefully curated for brides to find picture-perfect attire. From the moment you enter the door, you are instantly greeted with glamour and natural light pouring into every inch of the space. The attention to detail is second to none! Designer gowns dance and sparkle around the airy space, twinkling amongst sweet bridal accessories as well!

Let’s talk about the curator of the Atelier… Chicago’s own, Giselle Ghofrani. This Persian Iranian beauty was born into the fashion world. Giselle began sewing and designing alongside her talented mother (known throughout the industry as The Dress Doctor!) before beginning her career at esteemed design houses such as Vera Wang, J. Mendel, and Marchesa and then opening a shop of her own. She has even done a pop-up boutique with J. Mendel in Paris at one point in her storied career. I also have to shout out that G was one of the talents behind Amsale x Kercher a fashion pop-up we produced last year.
Belle Atelier specializes in carrying a curated collection of designers for Brides of ALL types, sizes and backgrounds. Giselle carefully selects the designers carried at the Atelier and she also creates custom pieces! When it comes to gowns, Just ask Giselle! She rocks the wedding gown scene and did we mention she is also in a band? You will fall in love with the boutique and one of our favorite belles, Giselle!

Belle has hosted a number of trunk shows featuring designers such as Sophie et Voila, Amsale and Elizabeth Fillmore. Elizabeth’s gowns and pieces are the epitome of style and grace. The quality of her work is evident and allows brides to find a piece of themselves in her designs. Her craftsmanship features intricate French lace, velvety silks, appliqués, and even pops of color.

Elizabeth and I discussed her latest Fall/Winter 2021 Reflection collection and her inspiration. We had so much fun chatting about all of the ways her pieces correspond to a Bride who is planning during this time and incrementally celebrating. In addition, Elizabeth highlighted the versatility and style of her designs, showing how they are able to stand apart at a time like no other. Her collection spans the spectrum of nostalgic to modern designs.

We love how her pieces have the unique ability to be mixed and matched. Her line not only focuses on gowns but also gorgeous pants, tops, capes, and lace overlays. Reflection evokes everything from Victorian elegance with French lace to sexy and confident with rich silk and chiffon.
